This includes a service charge, not just our time to arrange but a taxi has to go and buy the ticket on your behalf in advance, not to mention bankers fees for receiving your payments through online credit card or paypal, withdrawing changes and forwarding further of funds etc….. all bring up cost of a bus ticket…..

There are buses from Dar to Mloka village.

The trip is a full day and the bus is usually full.

The other alternative is to hire a vehicle from Dar or to fly.

This is a local bus which leaves Dar es Salaam (Temeke Sudani area) at around 4-5am daily and drives to Selous Mloka village.

Akida and Mwera bus lines run to Mloka village (about 10km east of the park’s Mtemere gate from Dar’s Temeke bus stand (seven to nine hours).

From there you can arrange a pick-up with park lodges.

Note that if you’re bringing your own vehicle into Selous it must be 4WD.

The bus is not a reliable source of transport and is very uncomfortable – and as a result we don’t recommend it unless you are the most adventurous and hardy of travelers!

There is a daily bus from Temeke’s Sudan Market (Majaribiwa area) and Mloka village, which is about 10km east of Mtemere gate (six to nine hours).

Departures in both directions are at 5am.

From Mloka, you’ll need to arrange a pick-up in advance with one of the camps.

Hitching within the Selous isn’t permitted, and there are no vehicles to rent in Mloka.

If you are continuing from the Selous to Kilwa, Lindi or Mtwara, there’s a daily dalla-dalla from Mloka to Kibiti junction, on the main road.

It departs Mloka anywhere between 3am and 5am (three to four hours).

Once at Kibiti, you’ll need to flag down one of the passing buses coming from Dar es Salaam to take you to Nangurukuru junction (for Kilwa) or on to Lindi or Mtwara.

Coming from Morogoro: Tokyo Bus Line goes at least once daily between Morogoro’s Msamvu transport stand and Kisaki village, departing in each direction between about 9am and 11am (seven hours).

From Kisaki, you’ll need to arrange a pick-up in advance with the lodges to reach Matambwe gate, 21km further on.

They leave Temeke Tokyo at  different times from 6 am all the way to 10am.
 
They arrive Mloka Village after 4 pm.
 
The cost is about 50/- per person
 
Or else we can hire a vehicle for you for $250 going and $250 coming back.
